Rules for identifying a reliable NGO

	Following questions from citizens who have been misled to believe that they made a donation to Latet, while being solicited by organizations with a similar name, please find tips that will help you distinguish between Latet (or another reliable organization) and an unknown operation.
	1.        Fundraising method – Latet encourages the public to donate products and does not tend to solicit monetary donations using donation pamphlets on the streets, in businesses or houses.  Monetary donations to Latet are accepted at official Latet stands, through our secured Internet site or following the donors’ direct contact with the organization.
	2.        Official organization documents – Ask to see the organization registration documents (and number), a valid certificate of proper management from the Registrar of Non Profit Organizations and an Income Tax “Article 46 Certificate”  (demonstrating that donations are tax deductible).
	3.        Contact information and identifying details – Ask to see the telephone number, address and other identifying details, such as the organization logo.
	4.        Advertising material – Ask to see pamphlets about the nature of the organization’s activities.
