We at Latet lead Israel’s largest food and product rescue operation, operating nationwide, year-round. Our partnerships with businesses, advanced logistics infrastructure, and effective operating model enable the distribution of thousands of tons of quality, nutritious food to tens of thousands of families and elderly people in need.

How do we rescue the food?

Rescuing surplus quality food starts at logistics centers, food manufacturers and retail chains across the country, where many products that cannot be sold due to short shelf life, damaged packaging, or other marketing reasons are still fresh and perfectly good to use. Using an advanced logistics system and a nationwide truck fleet, we collect food and products daily from production sites and retail chain branches and transfer them to one of our logistics centers for careful sorting, quality control, packaging, and distribution. From there, the food reaches tens of thousands of families and elderly people through our 210 local partner organizations.

Latet was established in order to assist populations in need, mobilize civil society toward mutual responsibility, and lead a change in national priorities.

We are the leading umbrella organization and food bank in Israel, partnering with 210 local NGOs and organizations across Israel. Each year, we mobilize 38,000 volunteers and provide ongoing assistance to 100,000 families and 1,700 Holocaust survivors.
