We provide ongoing, personalized support to Holocaust survivors and elderly people in need, helping restore dignity, comfort, and security in daily life.

This care is made possible through a dedicated network of volunteers delivering nutritious food each month, alongside professional assistance including home renovations for accessibility, medical treatments, essential needs support, and programs that ease loneliness and create community.

Ongoing holistic assistance

Year-round, we provide 1,600 Holocaust survivors and elderly people with:

• A monthly food box
  The monthly food boxes, delivered to their doorsteps by dedicated, regular volunteers, help ease their daily lives, contribute to their overall health, and allow this vulnerable population to allocate their limited resources to other critical expenses.
• Home renovations for accessibility
  The Home Repairs Project addresses safety hazards, environmental neglect, and long-term deterioration that pose risks to elderly individuals in their homes. In 2024, we executed more than 4,500 home repairs.
• Social support
  The 1,350 amazing volunteers who deliver aid directly to the homes of Holocaust survivors and elderly individuals offer ongoing social support, personal connection, and ensure that no essential need goes unmet.
• A response to additional essential needs
  To meet arising needs, we established a dedicated support fund that covers expenses such as dental care, eyeglasses, incontinence products, warm winter supplies,

Latet was established in order to assist populations in need, mobilize civil society toward mutual responsibility, and lead a change in national priorities.

We are the leading umbrella organization and food bank in Israel, partnering with 210 local NGOs and organizations across Israel. Each year, we mobilize 38,000 volunteers and provide ongoing assistance to 100,000 families and 1,700 Holocaust survivors.

Since founding Latet in 1996 as Israel’s first humanitarian aid organization of its kind, we’ve led the fight against poverty in Israel through solidarity and a belief in mutual responsibility and giving within civil society.
