Supporting Reservists’ Families Facing Financial Hardship Due to the War 

Because Service Shouldn’t Mean Poverty

When the war began, Israeli reservists were called up with little notice, often for weeks that turned into months, leaving behind jobs, small businesses, and daily routines.
At home, life changed overnight. Income was reduced or lost, businesses were forced to pause or close, and everyday expenses continued to accumulate. Many spouses suddenly found themselves managing work, childcare, and the household alone, without a reliable financial safety net. 

These are not families who were struggling before the war. They are ordinary households facing situational financial hardship as a direct result of extended reserve service. With limited government assistance, many families who never previously required support now risk slipping from temporary hardship into long-term poverty. 

In response, Latet created a Dedicated Relief Fund for Families of Reservists, providing monthly food and hygiene assistance to approximately 1,000 families for six months.

The Scale of the Need 

• 118,000 parents have served in reserve duty since October 7 

• 41% of reservists have lost or left their jobs 

• 34% of reservists’ families report ongoing financial difficulties 

What Your Support Provides 

Latet will provide 1,000 reservist families with six months of vital support. Each monthly assistance package includes: 

• joyful and nourishing food  

• hygiene products  

• cleaning supplies  

• Tailored necessary items, such as baby formula or diapers 

• family games, and more 

Average cost per monthly assistance package: $80 USD
